For many, this means that dry skin is here as well. My favourite winter-time face oil for hydrated skin is sweet almond oil. You can apply it directly to your face or mix it in with your moisturiser. This hypoallergenic oil is chock-full of vitamins and minerals that nourish the skin. It's great for all kinds of skin - dry, oily, acne- or rosacea-prone, eczema- or psoriasis-ridden etc. and it's also wonderful for your hair!
For the rest of your body, you can use the sweet almond oil on its own, mixed with another oil, or use the following recipe:
- 1/2 cup sweet almond oil
- 1/4 cup shea butter
- Optional: 1/4 cup castor oil
- 1-2 drops of essential oil of your choice
Melt the shea butter using a double boiler. Remove from the heat, add in the almond oil and essential oil. Mix together and pour in to a clean jar. Slather onto your skin. Up the proportions depending on how much oil you want to end up with. This is wonderful for dry, cracked feet.
