SWEET & SPICY CHICKPEAS

Here’s an easy snack recipe for the whole family!
– ¾ cup chickpeas – dried (this is equivalent to ½ a can)
– 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
– 1/2 tsp cayenne powder
– 1 pinch onion powder
– 1/2 tsp sea salt
– 1 tsp pure maple syrup or raw honey

Preheat oven to 350F. Wash and dry chickpeas (you can place in the sun or leave on the counter). Once the chickpeas are dry, place them into a bowl and mix in the olive oil. Bake the coated chickpeas for 45 minutes on a cooking sheet lined with parchment paper, rotating the chickpeas halfway through by shaking the sheet.
Once the 45 minutes are up, mix the rest of the ingredients and baked chickpeas together until the chickpeas are evenly coated. Bake for another 10-15 minutes until the desired crispiness is reached. Enjoy them while they’re hot or have cooled down!
