I facilitated my first skin care workshop this past weekend and it was a lot of fun!
(Plug: I’m running another one on May 15th, 2016 at 12pm in Aurora if you want to have a fun-filled couple of hours where you learn about skin care and make lip balms, facial oil blend, sugar scrub, and dry shampoo. Check out my Facebook page for details.)
This scrub is one of the items participants made and took home during the workshop.
– 1/2 cup organic (brown) sugar
– 1/4 cup ground organic green tea leaves (you can cut open a tea bag, but make sure that you sift out the hardy stems since those are quite abrasive) OR 1/4cup of lavender blossoms
– 1 tbsp organic sunflower/almond/jojoba/olive oil
– 2-3 drops of peppermint or lavender essential oil OR a 1/2tsp cinnamon powder
Mix everything together and exfoliate your skin whilst the skin is warm and after it has been cleansed. Wash off the scrub with water only – your skin should be smooth and soft.
Sugar scrubs may be too harsh for the face, so use this on the body and lips only.
For the lips, apply a small amount of scrub in small circular motions across your lips, leave on for 1-2 minutes and remove using the same circular motions.
